Privacy Policy – Permit2Drive
Last updated: July 2026
Permit2Drive is designed to help learner drivers, families, and supervisors track supervised driving practice, review driving totals, share access when needed, and export driving log records.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Permit2Drive collects, how that information is used, and how you can manage or delete your data.
Information We Collect
Permit2Drive collects and stores the information needed to provide, support, secure, and improve the app.
This may include:
- Account information, such as your sign-in method, name, email address, or user identifier
- Driving log information, such as driver names, supervisor names, drive dates, drive times, totals, notes, and driving conditions
- Shared access information, such as which users have access to a shared driving log
- App settings and preferences, such as selected appearance options
- Import and export activity needed to process files you choose to import or export
- Purchase information needed to provide or restore optional purchases, such as an ad-free upgrade
- App usage information, such as app launches, screens viewed, features used, button selections, and export or purchase events
- Technical information, such as app version, device or app identifiers, general device information, diagnostic information, crash information, and approximate location inferred from an internet connection
Permit2Drive does not ask for more information than is reasonably needed to provide, support, secure, and improve the app.
How Your Information Is Used
We use your information to provide and support Permit2Drive, including:
- Creating and managing your account
- Saving, syncing, and recovering your driving log
- Allowing shared access to a driving log when you invite another user
- Recording, editing, importing, exporting, and displaying driving records
- Managing app settings and preferences
- Providing and restoring optional purchases
- Providing customer support
- Maintaining app security and reliability
- Troubleshooting bugs, crashes, or technical issues
- Understanding how app features are used
- Measuring app performance and improving the app
We do not sell your driving log data.
We do not use the contents of your driving log, including driver names, supervisor names, notes, or drive history, for advertising, profiling, or targeted marketing.
Analytics
Permit2Drive uses Google Analytics for Firebase to help us understand how the app is used and how well it performs.
Analytics information may include app launches, screen views, feature interactions, export events, purchase-related events, app version, general device information, device or app identifiers, diagnostic information, and approximate geographic information inferred from an internet connection.
We use this information to:
- Understand which features are useful
- Identify errors or areas of the app that are difficult to use
- Measure app reliability and performance
- Improve app features and the overall user experience
Analytics information is not intended to include the contents of your driving log, such as your drive notes, driver names, supervisor names, or detailed driving history.
Google Analytics for Firebase provides app-usage and engagement reporting based on events and device-related information. :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}
Where Your Data Is Stored
Permit2Drive stores driving log data using secure cloud storage connected to your Permit2Drive account. This allows your driving log to be saved, synced, recovered, and shared with people you invite.
Your device may also store some app data locally so Permit2Drive can work smoothly.
Because Permit2Drive uses account-based cloud storage and analytics services, information may be stored and processed by service providers we use to operate the app, such as Firebase and Google Cloud services.
Shared Driving Logs
Permit2Drive allows the creator or owner of a driving log to invite other users, such as family members or supervisors, to contribute to that log.
If you join a shared driving log, the owner and other authorized users may be able to see information entered in that log, such as drive records, driver names, supervisor names, notes, and totals.
Do not share your personal sign-in information with others. Use Permit2Drive’s sharing features to invite another person to a driving log.
The creator or owner of a driving log controls shared access and may remove users from the shared log.
Imports and Exports
Permit2Drive may allow you to import supported files, such as driving records from another app, or export your driving records for your own files, licensing requirements, or long-term record keeping.
Files you choose to import are used to bring data into Permit2Drive.
Files you export are created at your request. Once exported, you are responsible for storing, sharing, or deleting those exported files.
Account and Data Deletion
You can delete your Permit2Drive account and associated driving log data from within the app.
Only the creator or owner of a shared driving log can delete that shared log for everyone. Other users may be removed from a shared log, but they cannot delete the owner’s log.
Before deleting your account or driving log, we recommend exporting your records if you need a copy for licensing requirements, personal records, or future reference.
Some information may remain for a limited time in backups, security logs, analytics records, purchase records, or other records where required for security, legal, troubleshooting, or operational purposes.
Inactive Accounts
Permit2Drive may eventually remove accounts and associated driving log data after an extended period of inactivity. If we adopt an inactive-account deletion policy, we will update this Privacy Policy to describe the current policy.
Ads and In-App Purchases
Permit2Drive may show ads in some versions of the app. Ads help support the app and keep it available to more families.
Advertising services may process information such as app interactions, device or app identifiers, diagnostic information, and approximate location inferred from an internet connection for purposes such as displaying ads, measuring ad performance, analytics, and preventing fraud.
The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and share IP-derived approximate location, product interactions, diagnostics, and device or account identifiers for advertising, analytics, and fraud-prevention purposes. :contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}
Permit2Drive may also offer optional in-app purchases, such as an ad-free upgrade. Purchases are handled by the applicable app store, such as Apple’s App Store or Google Play, and may also be processed by services used to verify and restore purchases.
We do not use the contents of your driving log for advertising or profiling.
Children’s Privacy
Permit2Drive may be used by families to track supervised driving activity for learner drivers, including minors.
Permit2Drive is intended to be used with the involvement of a parent, guardian, supervisor, or other responsible adult where appropriate.
The app does not knowingly use the contents of a learner driver’s driving log for advertising or profiling. Information about a learner driver is entered by users of the app for the purpose of maintaining a driving log.
If you believe a child has provided information that should be removed, please contact us.

Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information.
Information transmitted between Permit2Drive and its service providers is protected using standard security measures appropriate to the service.
No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in information safe and for using Permit2Drive’s sharing features instead of sharing your personal account credentials.
